Help Zac Overcome Severe Infection
Donation protected
My name is Zac. I have been VERY hesitant to do this. But I’ve realized that humbling myself and asking for help is ok. About 2 years ago, I found out I had a severe staph infection that made its way in my bones. Left hip, to be exact. I had an antibiotic spacer installed but slipped and fell not too long after my first surgery and dislocated my implant and broke my femur bone in the same leg. So I had another surgery. My orthopedic surgeon decided it would be best for him to do a girdle stone procedure. Which is basically taking my whole hip out. And his suggestion was for me to get 6 weeks of IV antibiotics through a pic line. Which would require me to go to the hospital every day to get my antibiotics. Or admit myself and stay the whole 6 weeks. I am married and it’s a struggle for my wife to do this on her own. I work a full time job even being partially disabled. But it’s still hard on the both of us to get by. Medical bills are piling up. We’ve had several things happen lately to keep us from putting any money back. Even with my health insurance and being considered indigent at the hospital, this is still what it’s going to cost me out of pocket to have these infusions done and cover what I will lose from being out of work as well. I take a prescribed antibiotic daily but I’ve been on it for so long where it’s starting to more harm physically than it is helping me. The infection is starting to spread. And I need to try and get this scheduled soon. At this point, it could be life or death. I have a family and they need me. I need to be around for them. And enjoy life in its full quality, if possible! We are grateful for any help. And are praying every day that everything works out the way it is supposed to. In all sincerity!!
