Hey y'all, I was afraid I'd have to do this, but I've gotta do it. Our cat Z needs some help. Over the last few months we noticed him losing weight despite him still eating and playing and being normal. He started chewing on loose carpet fibers, so we covered any damaged areas with small rugs to discourage him. I started worrying that he might have pica or even a thyroid issue that was leading to the weight loss. He started getting more picky with food and We took him in yesterday and the vet suggested it might be a blockage from him eating stuff he shouldn't, so we got him an X-ray. We just got the results back (which I'll share here for anyone who wants the details).
Long story short, the vet was correct in his assessment and Z has an obstruction probably made up of carpet fibers and shredded cardboard (we had to throw out his favorite scratching toys when he threw up and I saw cardboard in the bile).
It's going to be... a lot. And they want to have him in ASAP, because he's barely able to eat due to there not being enough room in his stomach with the obstruction.
I hate asking for help, but our little guy needs it and I can't get a credit card right now.
On the low end, it'll be 3k. On the higher end, it'll be 3.2k.
I live paycheck to paycheck. My last paycheck went straight to the vet yesterday and my next one has to go to rent.
Anything will help, even if it's only 5 or 10 bucks, that's something I didn't have before.
I just want our little guy to be okay.
