Hi, my name is Z, and I’m raising funds to help make my home safer after it was broken into Friday morning.

I live on the first floor of a house in a busy part of the city, where there’s a lot of foot traffic. For a long time, I’ve wanted to install outdoor cameras, motion lights, and basic window protections — but it’s never been in the budget, and still isn’t. Unfortunately, that lack of security left me vulnerable. Someone broke into my home during daylight hours, took my belongings, and left me deeply shaken.

Now I’m trying to rebuild a sense of safety. I’m asking for help to install:

• Motion-activated Ring cameras on the back and side of my home, where 2 alleys intersect

• Solar-powered floodlights for dark areas

• Path lights along the walkway to deter unwanted visitors

• Locks and window security devices to prevent another break-in

• One or two fans to stay cool this summer while I keep my windows more secure

My fundraising goal is $1,000. This will cover equipment, installation materials, and GoFundMe’s transaction fees — helping me take real steps toward feeling safe in my home again.
