My name is Yvonne, and I never thought I would be writing these words but life has ways of humbling you.

In 2023, I was diagnosis of ovarian cancer. In February 2024, I underwent a total hysterectomy and endured six rounds of chemotherapy, clinging to hope that the worst was finally behind me. But in April 2025, my world was shattered once again. Despite giving everything I had to the fight, the cancer came back. I went through another three rounds of chemotherapy between May and June, praying for a breakthrough but my doctor told me in July the treatment failed. The chemo drugs were changed for a better outcome but after another three cycles which ended 1st September 2025, the treatment didn’t just fail but has worsened my situation. The scans and test results now show that the cancer has spread to my lymph nodes, and I am desperately in need of advanced treatment options to save my life.

As if this wasn’t already overwhelming, in June 2025 I lost my beloved mother, who had been my rock, caregiver, and support system through this painful journey. Losing her just weeks before my cancer treatment failed has left me not only grieving but also facing this battle without the person who always stood by me.

The doctors have recommended further treatment with newer therapies that are not readily available in my home country Ghana. Therefore I’ll need to get the treatment in a country with advanced cancer treatments. These treatments offer me hope, hope for more time, hope for healing, and hope for life. But the costs are far beyond what my family and I can manage alone.

This is why I am reaching out with all the strength I have left to seek financial help, emotional support and a chance at life.
