I am a 73-year-old woman who has relied on cannabis as my medicine for over 50 years. It has been essential for managing my PTSD, keeping me from deep depression, and even helping my body function day to day. I have always grown my own supply each year to ensure I have what I need for my health and well-being.

Recently, my life was turned upside down. I was arrested for cultivating cannabis after a conflict with the people I live with. They are caught up in a scam and, during a heated argument, called the sheriff on me—telling them I had all this weed and was crazy. Even though they helped me grow and harvest it, and use it themselves, I was the one taken away. I spent three days in jail, sleeping on a thin mat on the floor, and lost all of my medicine. This was my first arrest in my entire life, and it has left me shaken and uncertain about the future.

My wonderful brother-in-law helped me get out of jail, but now I need help paying back the bond and facing the legal process ahead. I am extremely grateful to anyone who may help me out of this situation. I hope my story can be one of the last cannabis arrests—no one should have to go through this anymore.
