Hi everyone! I appreciate you all taking the time to read my story. My name is Yvette, and I have been living with Multiple Sclerosis  for 13 years. I was 23 when I was diagnosed. After time, my disabilities have progressed. I suffer from vision loss, Nystagmus (shaking of the eyes), difficulty walking, poor balance, weakness, drop foot, spasticity, anxiety, depression, speech difficulty, and fatigue. As overwhelming as it sounds, I try my best to remain positive.

I was an independent, driving, gym going,  elementary school teacher. Letting go of those things has been difficult, but I must continue pushing forward. I’ve undergone treatments of Betaseron, Avonex, Tysabri, and Lemtrada. Unfortunately, my mobility continues to decline.

A family member brought a device called Bioness to my attention. The particular piece is called the L300 Go. This device is strapped to your shin, and stimulates the appropriate nerves and muscles of the leg to override natural electrical brain signals. In layman’s terms, the L300 Go lifts your foot and allows you to take a heel to toe step. After a few months of contemplation, a trial session was set up. The thought of this working for me brought tears to my eyes. I sat as the piece was strapped to my leg. I was in shock when my leg lifted and took a step. I was now a candidate for the Bioness. Unfortunately, the L300 Go is not covered by my insurance. This is why I’m coming to you.
