EMERGENCY INTERVENTION: Relocation/medical stability/nutrition.

This is Yvela.

She lives in the mountains of Haiti. She is 27, with 4 children. The father(s) is/are nowhere. Yvela and her families current condition is critical. We are getting her and her children to safety now. Please help us however you can.

Yvela's current situation:

Yvela is living high on the mountains ridges of Bainet, Haiti. There is no electricity at all and the nearest fresh water source is an hour away by foot. She is living in a make shift home near flood zones and vulnerable to wind a rain. The families diet is random and sparse. Yvela and her children are on the brink of severe malnourishment. Intervention is critical.

ALL the money we raise will be used to:

• Immediate Medical attention for Yvela and her children.

• Safe Housing outside of Jacmel for 3 to 4 months.

• Small Financial intervention

• Health stability over 3 to 4 months.

This is being considered as an Emergency stage intervention. After the three to four months, we will re-asses Yvelas situation and evaluate what the best plan forward for Yvela and her family may be.

We feel the most important thing to do now is to get Yvela and her family to a safe space and stabilise the families health.

After this EMERGENCY stage, Kathias Kids will evaluate a SUSTAINABILITY stage for Yvela, where, with some assistance, we can transition Yvela to an economy she can sustain. We will help her maintain the new address and get her children into school.

Kathia's Kids will support Yveloa on a local level all along the way.

Haiti is a failed state in extreme need. Gangs control the economy with violence and impunity. International and US aid has come to an effective halt. Young girls are amongst the most vulnerable. They are left to raise their kids on their own in the most brutal conditions of poverty anywhere on the planet today.

Berline came to us in January of 2026. She was severely malnourished. We took her to the doctor who prescribed a parasite medication along with vitamin and mineral supplements. Kathia is tutoring Berline now and preparing her for her first public school experience. Berlines mother Yvela has 3 other children. They live in an extremely impoverished part of Haiti. We are in the process of moving Berline's mother to a safe neighborhood closer to public schools. With additional financial support we will set up Yvela with a small commerce business. We will empower and inspire Yvela and her children as they transition their way out of extreme poverty.
