Help Yuula Dance with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre

Hello, my name is Yuula. I’ve lived in the Poconos my whole life and at the age of 13 I have learned that dancing is my favorite way to express myself. It’s also what I’d like to do in the future, be a professional ballet dancer and get to dance everywhere I can. I’ve been dancing for 11 years now and have done every style under the sun, but recently I started focusing more on ballet and pointe. After attending the Joffrey Summer Intensive in 2023 and witnessing the American Ballet Theater performances I came to the realization that it was truly my dream to be able to dance in the city.

I’ve recently been accepted into the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater Summer Intensive program for 2024. I auditioned in February after looking at their programs for a long time and I’m so grateful for this next opportunity. The program would have me dancing 6 days a week for 5 weeks doing ballet, pointe, jazz and contemporary with a special performance at the end. I am excited to get the chance to attend because the PBT not only provides a comprehensive classical ballet education but also prioritizes the health and well being of their dancers. Their faculty is not only highly skilled but also caring and supportive, creating a place where dancers can grow in technique and artistry.

I would not be where I am today without help from my family, friends and teachers. I appreciate all they have done for me all they will do for me in the future.
