My name is Yusupha Yarbo. I am 31 years old and severely sight impaired. I walk with a cane and live each day in fear that I may lose the little vision I still have. Doctors in the UK are fighting hard to save my only remaining eye, but the Home Office wants to deport me to The Gambia where there is no specialist treatment available.
Specialist doctors at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London have confirmed that if I am returned, I will inevitably go blind. My left eye is already blind and prosthetic; my right eye has undergone multiple corneal transplants and is still very fragile. Without advanced UK care and follow-up, my sight will be gone forever.
I have tried every route for free legal aid, but sadly it is not available for my case. To challenge the Home Office’s refusal, I urgently need to raise funds to instruct a solicitor and barrister to pursue a Judicial Review.
This is not just about immigration status it is about my basic human right to dignity, independence, and the chance to keep my sight. If I am deported, I face a future of complete blindness, isolation, and suffering.
Please, help me. Your donation could save my sight, my independence, and my future. Even £1 makes a difference. If you cannot donate, please share my story.
