On May 4, 2026, Yurii was severely wounded during a Russian drone strike in Ukraine.
He suffered devastating burn injuries to both legs, multiple fractures, massive soft tissue damage, lung injuries, and blast trauma. Today, he remains in serious condition and requires complex reconstructive surgical treatment abroad.
A European hospital has already agreed to accept him for treatment. The doctors are ready. The treatment plan is ready.
The only thing missing is getting him there safely. His evacuation is currently planned for May 14 or 15.
At the R.T. Weatherman Foundation, we organize international medical evacuations for wounded Ukrainian soldiers. Since 2023, we have coordinated around 150 evacuations to hospitals across Europe, working closely with partners in Lithuania, Germany, the Netherlands, and other countries.
Some patients can travel with standard transport. Others, like Yurii, require a fully equipped ambulance with medical support during the evacuation.
The transportation cost for this case is expected to range between $2,300 and $3,300.
We are able to fund evacuations through our internal program budget, but that budget is limited, and every externally supported evacuation allows us to help more wounded soldiers and continue supporting overloaded Ukrainian hospitals.
For that reason, we sometimes open specific evacuation cases for external support — giving you the opportunity to directly help one wounded soldier and become his Patron.
Every donation to this fundraiser will go toward Yurii’s evacuation and medical transport.
Thank you for helping us get him to treatment.
