Yurie is a kind and wonderful person. Someone who is always a delight to be around, someone who has given of themselves to help through missionary work, someone who has kept moving forward despite all the challenges life keeps throwing at her. In short, a good soul and one who deserves help.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support you are willing to give her in these trying times. The following is a statement from a close friend of Yurie's, further explaining the injury

Hi guys, I’m Bel, Yurie’s best friend. She is conscious, but due to the pain, sedatives, and painkillers, she loses consciousness from time to time, so I’ll be speaking on her behalf.

She was admitted to the ER this morning and is now hospitalized, waiting for a very urgent surgery.

Seven years ago, in December 2018, Yurie suffered a terrible accident: a three-story fall that broke her spine, pelvis, and legs, leaving her paralyzed for several months. Since then, she has lived with lasting consequences in her daily life. She is considered disabled and has eight screws in her spine.

Today at dawn, Yurie woke up with severe spinal pain and was unable to move her left leg. After X-rays and MRI scans, doctors discovered that her condition is more serious than expected. For over a month, since November 2025, she has been experiencing persistent lower back pain. The results show that she has a herniated disc compressing her spinal cord, preventing the spinal nerves from reaching her left leg.

Today, December 28, 2025, doctors confirmed that she urgently needs surgery to remove the hernia as soon as possible. If not treated in time, it could further compress the spinal cord and cause irreversible damage, potentially affecting both legs and leading to paralysis.

That is why we are starting this GoFundMe—to ask for help before her condition worsens and causes lifelong consequences. Her surgery is scheduled to take place within the next 2 to 4 days.

Hoy, Yurie despertó con un dolor intenso en la espalda y sin poder mover la pierna izquierda. Tras realizarle radiografías y una resonancia magnética, los médicos determinaron que su condición es más grave de lo que se esperaba. Desde noviembre de 2025 ha sufrido dolor constante en la zona lumbar, y los exámenes revelaron una hernia que está comprimiendo la médula espinal, impidiendo que los nervios lleguen correctamente a su pierna izquierda.

Este 28 de diciembre de 2025, los médicos confirmaron que necesita una cirugía urgente para retirar la hernia lo antes posible. De no realizarse a tiempo, podría causar una mayor compresión de la médula, con consecuencias irreversibles, afectando ambas piernas y poniendo en riesgo su movilidad.

Por esta razón, hemos iniciado este GoFundMe para pedir apoyo antes de que su estado de salud empeore y tenga consecuencias para toda la vida. La cirugía está prevista para realizarse en los próximos 2 a 4 días.
