Last week I found out that my sweet girl has cancer.

I took her in to the emergency vet when I noticed a large lump on her abdomen, and they told me to get it looked at by a specialist. Fortunately, although my regular vet could not do the procedure, the wonderful folks at Oregon Humane Society Community Vet were able to take a look. Yuki actually has two tumors, one that was previously misdiagnosed as a 'hot spot' due to her sensitive skin, and the other on her abdomen. She will need to undergo surgery with anesthesia to have both tumors removed, and during this procedure they will check to see if the cancer has spread. Yuki just turned seven, so the best case scenario is that after the surgery she will be cancer free and will get to keep on living for many years to come.

It is a tough world out there, and though I did go to the most affordable vet possible, I was still quoted a sum I cannot reasonably pay or save for in time for this procedure to actually prevent the spread of her cancer. I am able to pay about half, and am asking for help to cover the rest of the estimated amount.

Originally, did not want to make this, as I know there is so much going on in the world, and the idea of asking for anything right now feels absurd. Unfortunately, every other avenue I pursued turned up nil and crowd-funding seems to be the only option left. However, anyone who knows me is keenly aware of how precious Yuki is to me, and how much this girl saved my life time and time again. The animal bond is so valuable, especially in world when nothing feels stable, and I am so incredibly lucky to have such an amazing dog through it all.

I hope it is obvious that any small amount makes a big difference, I am beyond grateful to anyone who donates no matter the amount. Yuki has been by my side through the thick and thin, to be able to return the favor in keeping her happy and healthy will make all my days to come.
