TW: Domestic Violence

Hi community, this is Yoyo and I'm writing on behalf of my mama and younger brother who live together in the San Fernando Valley. This one is hard to share. My entire childhood, I navigated a violent household, and in my adulthood, I have been trying to heal my inner bb’s wounds and support my family’s autonomy in making their own decisions. I’m angry and enough is enough. I’m fundraising to support my mom and brother with moving costs, first month’s rent, and food support by February.

Our family has been navigating a traumatizing domestic violence situation this week. My prayer is I can get my mama and brother moved to a safer home where they can heal & restart. Both of them are loving, generous people, present in their communities, and deserve better.

My mama has also lost three weeks of work due to the Palisades fires. She works as a housecleaner and doesn’t have any other sources of income. Any support will help!
