I'm Dahlia from the USA, and I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of the Al-Shurafa family in Gaza.

Hello everyone,
We took a difficult path to get to internet so that we can write our message to you. We are Al-shurafa family from Gaza city, Our family consists of
1.Alaa Al-shurafa, father (51)
2.Heba Al-shurafa, mother (48)
3.Mohammed Al-shurafa, Grandpa (74)
4.Nesma Al-shurafa (23)
5.Nour Al-shurafa, sister (20)
6.Abood Al-shurafa, brother (18)
7.Mohammed Al-shurafa, brother (22)
8.Yousef Al-shurafa, brother (4)

After surviving near-death experiences for the past 5 months, we decided to initiate this a GoFundMe so we can evacuate the war on Gaza. We need to move to safety, and there is no safety in Gaza. We never imagine that we had reached this stage but it seems that this is the only way we can rebuild our life and escape the continues genocide in Gaza.

Before the war began, we were living in a warm house full of memories. Suddenly, our house is destroyed and our life turned upside down. After the first week of the war, we have been evacuated from our home. We have moved from place to another hoping to be safer than the other. Now, we are staying in a tent and tiny room in Rafah, the south of the Gaza strip.
It's not safe to live in a tent especially at night while we hear the sounds of warplanes, but we have no other option. All of us were left homeless and helpless. My father had a commercial store in Gaza, but now it has become ashes after being bombed.
We were dreaming to make our life better and work hard to have more money for many reasons. The most important one is that before the war started, we were planning to travel to Egypt for our little brother Yousef to receive his treatment that the doctors prescribed for us.

Yousef, who is 4 and a half years old, is our youngest brother. He suffers from a major developmental delay. He is nonverbal, cannot talk, walk or run as a child his age. Doctors said we should treat him immediately in Egypt. Yousef needs treatment as soon as possible, but the circumstances and the war prevent us from traveling to help him. We no longer have a source of income. We were planning to sell our house before to have some money which can help us to travel and help him. Unfortunately, our house is completely destroyed and now we have nothing.

Additionally, My father has been suffering from a stroke for a long time, and he needs certain medications that are no longer available in the area we live in. Our 17-year-old brother is supposed to be in his senior year of high school. He dreams to continue his education and has a chance to get to the university. Our 20-year-old sister had done 2 years of university in Information Technology and would like to continue her education. Our grandfather, whose health condition must be mentioned. He suffers from a severe tumor in his feet. He has diabetes and high blood pressure. Time is running out for him and his condition is getting worse. The doctors say he must leave Gaza as soon as possible to get the life-saving medication he needs. His health is deteriorating rapidly, and we are desperately trying to get him the care he needs.

Untill now, there is no ceasefire. We still under attack; the war is still ongoing. The news said that the war will remain on Gaza for a long time. We are living in a genocide, fear, hunger, and illness. Our lives have become unbearable and unfit for living. We are facing extreme difficulty in obtaining food and clean water in this cold weather, in addition to the lack of internet and electricity. The more effort you put into searching, the greater your chances of survival. There are food aid shipments arriving in Gaza, but due to the increase in the number of displaced people and the population, we haven't received anything yet. We walk a long distances to obtain canned and unhealthy food. We have started using wood as a fuel alternative and solar energy instead of electricity. This allows us to charge our phones so that we can communicate and access the weak internet.

Due to the harsh circumstances and extremely high travel costs to get out of Gaza, we are asking for your support to help Yousef and our family with the travel costs to start our lives away from the war on Gaza.

The funds raised will cover the travel costs to Egypt, where the cost of exit for one person is estimated at $7,000, in addition to other travel costs, such as:
Transportation costs
Accommodation costs
Visa costs
Food costs

We are grateful for any support you can provide, no matter how small. Thank you
