Help Yousef and Mahmoud evacuate to safety

Hi, we are friends of Yousef @joegaza93.

Through your generous contributions we have managed to raise the funds for Ayman (Yousef @joegaza93's younger brother) to leave Gaza to safety. Alhamdulilah, he has now safely reached Egypt. We want to thank you all who made this possible. It wasn’t easy for Ayman and the evacuation took some time (almost two months of waiting). We wish him all the best with his future, inshallah! 

When we created this GoFundMe for Ayman it was day 112 of indiscriminate attacks in the Gaza Strip. It is now day 175!! And the situation is only worsening by the minute. Yousef and his brother Mahmoud are now compelled to make the heartbreaking decision to leave his home in Gaza City of 30 years to join their brother in Egypt. 

Since, he is unable to create a fundraising page, he has chosen us, his friends to create this page and collect the funds on his behalf. 

 100% of your contribution will go directly to him and Mahmoud.

Our target this time is £34,000, the money will contribute to getting them out of Gaza and sustain their lives for a short amount of time until they are able to settle down, and get back on his feet. They will be leaving in the hope of working abroad in order to support their family who will be staying in Gaza. 

We will be sending the total amount via a secure payment method to him.

I am Yousef, you may know me as @JoeGaza93. I am a PICU Neonatal nurse from Gaza and I have been documenting and sharing with you all my beloved Gaza, my home, my homeland since 2017. 

I have spent my entire life here, it is all I have ever known. Like most Gazans, I have lost everything.

I am leaving, my family, my friends, the sea, the sunsets, my work, my home- everything behind in the hope of finding a more peaceful and safe future. 

 

The past 6 months have been the hardest period of my life, I have no words to describe the pain and feeling I am experiencing. It has been devastation after devastation. We have experienced everything: carpet bombing, forced displacement several times, extreme poverty and man-made famine among many other factors. And the suffering continues. For this reason, I have decided to take this decision to leave. It has not been easy but I have no choice but to take it.

I loved every aspect of my life here before the invasion despite the ugliness of the blockade. Only once in my life, I have left Gaza. The world is new to me and with your help, I will be able to build something to help my family and my community, inshallah. I don't think any human in this world deserves to endure such misery or has the capacity to live through it. All I want is to leave now, seize the opportunity for a better life, and start anew. Here, there are no guarantees for your life, safety, or your future. 

100% of the donations will be used to help me leave Gaza and cover accommodation costs for a short period until I can settle and return to work, inshallah. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
