Hey my name is Jessica and I am the owner of Pages of Passion bookstore.

2.5 years ago I opened this store as I knew Saskatoon (and Saskatchewan) needed their very own romance bookstore. With a lot of planning, research and a leap of faith, Pages of Passion was born.

Over the 2 years I’ve been open, I’ve faced various challenges and have been able to overcome them.

So far in 2026, running a retail store has been extremely hard. Between rising costs and high rent, it has been hard to keep up with operating expenses and keeping the store stocked with necessary items.

Anyone who runs a bookstore knows that inventory requires upfront cash, and when shelves start to empty, it becomes even harder to generate the sales needed to recover.

I am actively looking for a smaller, more affordable space in Saskatoon. Unfortunately since my lease is not up yet, I first have to find someone to take over the space before I can search for other options. My goal is to move into a spot that makes running a retail business more manageable and sustainable long term.

Pages of Passion is more than just a romance bookstore, it’s a space for the romance community to feel safe & supported. To destigmatize the beliefs surrounding the romance genre as a whole and for customers to not feel shame when shopping for a romance book. To support romance authors from around the world.
