If you know Kyle Liles–whether you grew up with him, you’ve worked alongside him or maybe just had a drink with him at some bar along the way–I guarantee it was an experience you never forgot. And if you’ve met Kyle–even once–you know exactly what I mean. He probably gave you a hard time or made you laugh, but Kyle wanted you to have fun and he made you feel special. He genuinely cares about others, especially the friends he has made in this life, and has always been there when you’ve needed him. Right now, Kyle needs your help.
On December 20th (2021) Kyle collapsed at home and was rushed to Methodist Hospital Metropolitan by EMS. Doctors discovered Kyle had a pulmonary embolism with two large blood clots in each lung close to the heart blocking blood and oxygen flow. After being transported to the ICU at the Medical Center, Kyle underwent a procedure to attempt to minimize one of the clots that was dangerously close to his heart.
Kyle is stubborn and after spending Christmas week in the hospital, he was finally stable enough to return home.
Unfortunately, Kyle does not have health insurance at this time and after working non stop since he was a kid, Kyle is currently not employed and in addition to having to cover his hospital costs without health insurance, Kyle will need help with his mortgage, medication, follow ups, visits with a Pulmonary specialist, etc.
If you don’t know Kyle, the pictures below paint a picture of the character I’m describing. He’s been a part of the San Antonio area and music scene for over 30 years from his early days singing in HAWG at classic San Antonio music venues like Wacky’s Cantina, Tacoland, and Boss Cat, to DJ-ing at clubs like Sin13, St. Mary’s Tavern, Sam Burgers Joint, and The Lab. He also booked a number of bands for the San Antonio area like the Adicts, Sloppy Seconds and Groovie Ghoulies.
Every dollar given here will help Kyle begin to take on the weight of this mighty medical burden. Please donate what you can and share out. Kyle has shared a drink or two and connected with so many of you!
Hopefully with your help Kyle can get back to enjoying some of his favorite things: Chelsea matches, a sip of Jameson and his beloved dog, Foxy.
