Help young trans artist recover from a neck fracture
Donation protected
This is a fundraiser for Lee Sinclair. Lee is a young local trans artist. In the past month, he put in over 250 job applications. He was overjoyed by an AmeriCorps conservation opportunity and ready to spend the year away from loved ones helping the planet and saving to get back into college.
Last week, Lee broke his neck. It's called a "clay shoveler's fracture," and he is now in a cervical collar and unable to work or do more than the most basic daily activities for 6-8 weeks. This is the second orthopedic injury in a year; he broke a finger while working as a welder due to poor oversight and likely malnourishment. It was a devastating injury as an artist because it was his dominant hand. He just isn't built for physical labor.
Lee needs to rest for two months. He wants to move into a cooperative for affordable housing and community so he can go back to college. Right now, groceries are alarmingly difficult. He is an exceptionally talented artist and will bring so much joy to the community if we can help him get to where he should be: rested up, healed, safely housed, and back in college.
