We are deeply saddened to tell you that Iacob Peter Zsigmond beloved son, brother, friend and colleague, passed away and his family needs our help. My name is Alex, I was one of his best friends, and his family have entrusted me with completing their wishes as well as the necessary legal work.
I'll tell you more about what the money will be used for further down the page but first I'd like to tell you about my friend, affectionately called, Jacob. Know by some as Peter. Jacob Peter.
He was an extremely nice person, some would say that he was too nice. It didn't matter who someone was or what they did in life, he treated everyone equal and shared all he could with everyone. He would, and in fact did, give the shirt off his back.
He often talks about how much bad there is in the world and that he wanted to fix it. This bothered him so much that he eventually couldn't take it anymore and he turned to drugs to find peace. This led to a struggle with addiction and one thing that helped was to keep busy, working two jobs and giving most of his money to others in need.
He ended up giving so much that he forgot about himself and would go days without proper food and water. Due to a lack of nutrition and hydration his addiction got the better of him.
One of his jobs was working at a hospital, contributing to the care of others, full time. His second job was, another almost full time job, at a local car wash performing any task that was asked if him. He loved the feeling of doing a good job and seeing the faces of happy customers.
Jacob was born in Romania, and grew up in Hungary. His family had never been well off and so, he came to Canada for a better life and with hopes that he would be able to help his family. His mother, who still lives in Hungary and does not speak English, has not seen her son since he left for Canada in 2006. Jacob became a Canadian citizen in 2011.
I asked his mother to share some words with us. Here, loosely translated, is what she said:
My dear son Petru Iacob Zsigmond. Born February 1990 on the 19th. The happiest day of my life. I can hold my most beautiful, beautiful baby in my hands. I was the happiest mother in the world❤❤❤. For me, he was everything, he meant my life to me. He was a very good, kind and huge good-hearted child. If he really wanted something he fought hard for, he was very persistent and maximalist. He loved to be happy and loved me. He was a very loving boy. It is very difficult for a mother to write how he was. He is here in my heart, he is with me in every memory in my memories. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do but quietly mourn my dear son. I pray for him and for his peace of mind and ask the good God to help him find eternal happiness and seek peace. I trust that one day he will find him home, to me and take him to the grave of his foster father to find the peace of the end. Please help him get to me. Thank you. God bless.
