Help Young Musicians: Tom Reese Memorial

Tom Reese, flutist and composer, dedicated his life to music and helping young musicians get their start in a very competitive, confusing, and rewarding business. He passed away on August 24, 2024. He had endless energy for musical projects of all kinds, from making clay instruments with kids of all ages, to accompanying silent films, to working with deaf children -- he won many awards for his creations and compositions.

His family is creating this scholarship fund on his behalf to give him the opportunity to hlep another young musician in their chosen career path. The recipient has not been chosen yet, but will be a student who needs the help to start their career.

Eligibility:

-Students must be between 15-19 years old

-Student intends to pursue a career in music

-Any instrument or composition

To apply for this scholarship:

-Send letter of intent with contact information, age, goals in music, instrument you play, whether or not you are a composer of music, and what you would use scholarship for. References may be asked for later.

-Deadline for receiving letter of intent is Oct 20, 2024
