Help Young Lenny pull through
Donation protected
Lenny was brought to the VCA Animal Hospital at 11:30pm on Sunday Nov 15. He was not his usual self through the day, not crawling on me trying to steal my glasses off my face, not playing. Lenny was growling, moping around the house. I noticed he was in his litter box for long periods but it was clean. When hissing followed his growling I knew he was ill. My Dad instinct kicked in, I called the VCA, they said bring him over now. I was told to head home. The Vet called me at 12:30am she said if I had waited for an appointment with his regular that he most likely would not have made it through the night. She said he was in a great deal of pain when I brought my little buddy in. He has a type of kidney stones that crystallized to a hard blockage. He is sedated with a cath that is trying to break down the hard blockage. She could not manually pass his bladder or bowels. She said uti's are common in males but his is the deadly version if untreated. If he cannot pee in 2 days he will need surgery. As of last night the vet bill is $4100, I paid $2500 last night and I am dry being on workers comp. Surgery would be another $4,400k+. I do not qualify for the pet insurance being on workers comp. He's only 2-1/2 years young, the vet said he is healthy other than this and has a long life ahead. His prognosis right now does not look good to wait, surgery will get him a new healthy start at an unconditional loving life. Not having a child of my own, he is my son, this breaks my heart to know that I may have to say goodbye to Lenny because of finances.
