Hello, this is Javi and Kellen, and it's our first time requesting money from outsiders, but we are in a desperate place and don't know what to do anymore.

Our apartment building caught fire earlier in November because of an accident involving my little brother and the lack of preventive measures in the building itself (the red box in front of our door didn't even have the fire extinguisher it should have, sadly). The four of us—me, Kellen, my brother, mother, and her two cats—were all moved into a barely working one-bedroom unit.

At this point, my mother has already canceled the lease and moved somewhere else because management refuses to do anything, give us back the rent money, or fix the three-bedroom unit to begin with. So now, me and Kellen have until November 30th to save enough money to move out (since we desperately do not want to keep living here; these people rob you of all your money) and hopefully stay with a friend in NY state for a few weeks or months since we have nowhere else to go. My mother has lost too much of her money to be able to help us, and either way, Kellen would lose his income moving away, but affording rent alone is also not doable.

We don't even have a car. Kellen is just getting his driver's license, and we have no other friends or family to go to here in Florida that can help within the time limit. So our best bet is to collect as much money as we can with donations and his minimum wage job.

We are young and just got eloped. I can't even work, so he is doing his best to support the both of us, but America is not currently the place for two people to survive off a single low salary. The rest of my family isn't even in the country, and their monetary aid would be basically nothing in comparison to the US Dollar.

Please find it in your hearts to aid us, even if not with money by itself. We do not want stay alone and scared through this difficult process... Thank you
