Hello, my name is Yon. I'm currently 16, and the past year of 2025 was really rough, but the biggest hardship was in June, when my dad was taken by ICE despite being a legitimate and legal immigrant pursuing citizenship since 2015. Ever since then, my mom has had an extremely hard time taking care of me and my 2 younger brothers while also trying to maintain my education for a brighter future, and also with my extracurricular activities, paying bills, car payments, and the house mortgage.

It’s all just too much pressure put onto one adult. And it's something that I can no longer stay silent about.

My mom doesn’t speak English well either, and I'm too young and not able to provide for my family the same way my dad was able to.

Currently:

My mom is behind on payments, and my dad's case has been constantly dragging on without any clear results for nearly a year. I can no longer stay silent about this situation.
