Hello friends and fellow animal lovers,

NOW is the time to do something to help Yonkers cats. I have set up this go fund me to continue the work I have been doing to help the community cats in Yonkers, the city I was born and raised in. I have been doing TNVR (Trap Neuter Vaccinate Release) work now for over 2 decades in Yonkers, the 3rd largest city in NY state. As a volunteer, I have been able to reduce the amount of kittens being born outside and have also rehomed many “friendly” cats that were abandoned on the streets of Yonkers.

The past few years there has been a huge surge of community cats because of many factors….lack of low cost spay and neuter clinics, the high cost of private veterinary care, the lack of availability and affordable housing that allows animals, the subsided covid pandemic and cats are no longer as desired for human companionship.
This past year I had the good fortune to work with SPCA in Briarcliff, NY because of a grant given to them to help cover the cost for spay/neuter of Yonkers community cats. In one year, we had approximately 570 cats spayed, neutered and vaccinated and over 50 cats and countless kittens taken off the street and rehomed for better, healthier and safer lives.

As of September of 2024, SPCA grant funding had ended and that means there will be many more cats that need TNVR for a better chance to survive without producing more unwanted kittens. As a passionate volunteer, I also provide food, shelter and medical attention if needed, but all of this needs finding. Sadly, in doing this work I have also trapped some very sick or injured cats that have had to be euthanized to end their suffering being left on the street.

So, as I continue to help the community cats I humbly ask for your donations to support this work I do to better the lives of the cats and to better the lives of the people in the community known as Yonkers.

We also need to encourage the officials of the City of Yonkers to open up a low cost spay/neuter clinic for cats as well as dogs and to hold vaccine clinics for the health of the animals and the city they live in.

The cost of spay/neuter and rabies vaccination is $70. This is a good deal….but when there are so many cats needing help, it surely adds up quickly. We are hoping to raise enough money to get as many cats as we can fixed. If anyone has a soft spot for animals and would like to sponsor just one cat at $70 that would be awesome. Your help will ensure that the cats of Yonkers will not have to suffer from breeding constantly and giving birth to many litters.
Any amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
