Thank you for the outpouring of love and support you’ve already shown to Jen and Yoni. Our families are deeply grateful for the many ways you’ve cared for them, and we’re thankful for how you’re considering supporting them financially as they face a long road ahead.

On Saturday, May 31, Yoni was in a bike accident while riding to Washington Park, a popular park in Denver. He struck a metal gate entering the park, flipped over his handlebars, and landed directly on his head. Jen was just a few moments behind him, and by the time she arrived at the scene, kind strangers had already gathered to help and called 911.

Yoni was rushed to the hospital in what doctors described as a “minute-by-minute” emergency. He arrived unconscious, unresponsive, and unable to breathe on his own. He was immediately intubated and admitted to the ICU, where he remained in a coma for 10 days. Yoni suffered a Grade 3 traumatic brain injury (TBI), with bleeding in his brain stem and other areas of the brain. He is currently in a step-down unit and awaiting transfer to Craig Hospital, where he will begin intensive brain rehabilitation with a team of specialized therapists to support his recovery.

This journey has been incredibly heavy for Jen and our families — and yet, we have seen the Lord answer so many prayers and remain hopeful and confident for more healing to come.

We’ve created this GoFundMe to help support Yoni and Jen as they navigate the months ahead. Yoni’s care team has shared that recovery could take anywhere from 6 months to a year or more. During this time, Yoni will be unable to work, and his disability benefits only cover a portion of his salary. Your generous support will help ease the financial burden so Jen and Yoni can focus on healing.
