Our son Yonggi, only 23 years old, is facing a battle we never expected. Recently, he was diagnosed with heart failure and an enlarged heart, and we spent 15 days in an Atlanta hospital trying to get him on the road to recovery. His cardiology team is still searching for answers about what caused this, as his heart function has dropped to just 10-15%.
Yonggi’s journey hasn’t been easy. After being adopted from South Korea as a baby, he contracted Kawasaki Disease, which was thought to potentially cause heart problems later in life. However, his current cardiologist believes this is unrelated. Right now, Yonggi’s treatment consists of oral heart medications, and we’re holding onto hope that they will shrink his heart and improve its function.
Unfortunately, this unexpected turn has also come with financial strain. We've experienced a significant loss of income and can't afford the costly medication he urgently needs.
We’re asking for your support to help Yonggi continue his fight. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to giving him a chance at recovery and a future. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
