Yomi, our 10-year-old Chihuahua mix, is the heart of our home. She’s always had that classic Chihuahua attitude—full of energy, quick to get the zoomies, and always ready to play. Lately, though, things have changed. A swollen teet that she had for a long time began to get much worse a few months ago. When we took her to the vet, we learned she needs to be spayed and, more urgently, needs a mastectomy. Since then, Yomi hasn’t been herself. She doesn’t play like she used to, and when I pick her up, she yelps in pain. It’s heartbreaking to see her like this, knowing how much she wants to run and be her happy, goofy self again.

We’re doing everything we can to help her. My sister generously gifted us half the cost for her surgery, but we still need help to cover the rest. My husband was laid off from a job he loved earlier this year, and finding a new position has been tough. Our family is ready to care for Yomi through her surgery and recovery, but we can’t do it alone. Any support will go directly to her medical care and help us get her back to the joyful, playful dog we know and love. We’d be incredibly grateful for any help—seeing Yomi running around and acting goofy again would mean the world to us.
