Help Yoli Recover from a Car Robbery in Portugal

Hey there,

some of you probably know me—I'm Yoli (28). On June 1st, my friend's (Nina’s) rental car was completely robbed while we were at the beach in Portugal.

I had just finished hosting a women's retreat in the mountains of Portugal with my friend Nina. Right after the retreat, we decided to take a short trip to the beach at Aljezur. We were completely blissed out, filled with love from the beautiful retreat.

We had all our belongings in the car: my huge suitcase with all my favorite clothes, cosmetics, retreat equipment, and my backpack full of electronics, including my new MacBook (bought in November), journal, Kindle, lots of jewelry, and many personal items.

We had hidden everything well and were only away from the car for 45 minutes. But in that time, the rental car was almost completely emptied. All my things are gone. Nina's things, except for 1-2 tote bags, were taken too. They smashed the window, opened the door from the inside..and took everything. I only had my retreat tote bag, a bikini, a hat, my shirt and kimono, sandals, and fortunately, my phone and wallet with me at the beach. Everything else was stolen. I have nothing left… I'm still in shock. I worked so hard for all these things, and they were just taken from me.

The problem: Unfortunately, I don't have proper insurance for this, and the car and travel insurance don't cover it (the car insurance only covers the car). It's hard for me to ask for help, but I’m doing it. I want to show that it's okay to ask for help and that I can accept support. ♥️ Thank you in advance for your help.

I need to quickly buy a new laptop to continue working and replace many items. Here’s a list of my estimated expenses:

- MacBook: about €2500

- External hard drive + microphone: about €200

- Other electronics: about €200

- Jewelry: priceless…

- Shoes: €180

- Cosmetics: probably around €150 for everything

- Clothes: around €3000-4000 since I mostly have fair fashion pieces.

- Backpack: €180

- Suitcase: about €250

- Other items like an analog camera and small things…

Halihalo liebe Menschen,

viele von euch kennen mich wahrscheinlich schon – ich bin Yoli (28 Jahre alt). Vor drei Tagen (am Samstag, den 01.06.) wurde das Mietauto meiner Freundin Nina am Strand in Portugal komplett ausgeraubt.

Bis zum 01.06. habe ich mit Nina ein Frauen-Retreat in den Bergen Portugals gehostet. Direkt danach wollten wir kurz zum Strand in Aljezur fahren. Wir waren völlig im Bliss, voller Liebe nach dem wunderschönen Retreat…

Wir hatten alle unsere Sachen im Auto: meinen großen Koffer mit all meinen Lieblingsklamotten, Kosmetikzeug, Retreat-Equipment und meinen Rucksack voll mit Elektronik, inklusive meinem neuen MacBook (gekauft im November), Tagebuch, Kuscheltier, Kindle, viel Schmuck und vielen persönlichen Gegenständen.

Wir hatten alles gut versteckt und waren nur 45 Minuten vom Auto weg. In dieser Zeit wurde der Mietwagen jedoch fast komplett leergeräumt… Meine Sachen sind alle weg. Bei Nina blieben nur 1-2 Jutebeutel im Auto. Sie haben das Fenster eingeschlagen und alles mitgenommen. Ich hatte nur meinen Retreat-Jutebeutel, einen Bikini, einen Hut, mein Hemd und Kimono, Sandalen sowie zum Glück mein Handy und meinen Geldbeutel mit an den Strand genommen. Alles andere wurde gestohlen. Ich habe wirklich gar nichts mehr… Ich bin immer noch im Schock. Ich habe so hart für all diese Sachen gearbeitet und sie wurden einfach so von mir genommen.

Das Problem: Ich habe leider keine Versicherung dafür und weder die Autoversicherung noch die Reiserücktrittsversicherung übernimmt den Schaden (die Autoversicherung deckt nur das Auto). Es fällt mir schwer, nach Hilfe zu fragen, aber ich tue es. Ich möchte zeigen, dass es okay ist, um Hilfe zu bitten und dass ich Unterstützung annehmen darf. ♥️ Vielen Dank jetzt schon für eure Hilfe.

Ich muss mir jetzt schnell einen neuen Laptop kaufen, um weiterarbeiten zu können, und viele Sachen neu kaufen. Hier ist eine kleine Liste, damit ihr besser verstehen könnt, warum ich so hohe Kosten habe:

- MacBook: circa 2500 €

- Festplatte + Mikrofon: circa 200 €

- Andere Elektronikgeräte: circa 200 €

- Schmuck: unbezahlbar…

- Schuhe: 180 €

- Kosmetik: locker 150 € für alles

- Kleidung: locker 3000-4000 €, da ich fast ausschließlich Fair Fashion Teile habe

- Rucksack: 180 €

- Koffer: circa 250 €

- und andere Sachen wie eine Analogkamera und kleine Dinge…
