Hello everyone. My name is Yolanda, and I’m reaching out with hope and humility to ask for your support. Just over two years ago, I purchased my home out of necessity, knowing it would provide stability that renting could not. It was a blessing to be able to purchase my first home in honor of the promise I made my Mom, and I’m grateful that God has blessed me to maintain it over these past two years.
Sadly, I haven’t been able to live at home since it recently suffered unexpected damage, and it has become a difficult journey for me. I’m 56 years old and work full time, yet I’m facing this unexpected hardship with limited funds and ongoing health challenges, including asthma and a dislocated shoulder. My house is older and needs important updates, but the issue at hand is urgent. The original cast iron water pipe in the crawlspace under my home recently burst, likely during a cold snap. While my insurance covered water cleanup, it won’t help with the cost of repairing or replacing the pipe. I’ve received repair quotes for both temporary fixes and a complete replacement, but I worry that choosing a quick fix could leave me in the same situation again in the future. I just want to return to the comfort and safety of my own home.
I am currently stretched thin, working on paying off medical and credit card debts, and I take full responsibility for my debts, which is why I’m working on paying them off. My friends and family have helped, and with their kindness I’ve raised some support so far. Still, I have a long way to go. I’m reaching out humbly for any help you can provide. Your generosity, no matter the amount, will not only help restore my home but give me peace of mind. If you’re able to contribute or share my story, it would mean the world to me. Anything you can give would be a blessing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, your prayers, and your support. I've added pics of the estimates for the water/sewage cleanup and the minimum fix option (which by the way needs to be accepted by Jan. 16, 2026).
