Help Yolanda Reconnect Her Lights for Her Family’s Sake

Yolanda is the mother of a 10 year old autistic little girl with dyslexia and a 5 year old autistic little boy with hyperactive ADHD. Yolanda is in an emergency situation at this point. She has gone to the Community Action Agency and Hartsville Interfaith Ministries in her county, they have refused to help her. Hartsville Interfaith Ministries is located in a predominant area of town considered to be white zoned. Hartsville Interfaith Ministries only offers help to the whites and white folk of the town. Hartsville Interfaith Ministries told Yolanda that her situation was not a crisis. They told her they are only a crisis ministry and can’t give her the state funding. The white employee of Hartsville Interfaith Ministries told Yolanda in an insulting and rude tone of manner, that maybe she should move back in with her mother. Hartsville Interfaith Ministries (HIM) were supposed to be a group of Christian people, who didn’t offer any aid or help to Yolanda or her children when needed the most. The Community Action Agency told her that the light bill can’t be over $500.00, in order for them to provide state funding. That they can’t disburse funding for a bill this high. Yolanda has reached out to her children’s father for help with the clothing and shoes for the kids. He hasn’t been in the children’s life for 8 years. She was told by the children’s father (who is a real estate agent) that he couldn’t help her, neither the kids. The children’s father told Yolanda not contact him anymore because he just got married and doesn’t want any trouble from his wife. Yolanda has been crying tears since day one for “The Good Lord” to rain mercy and a miracle on her with this emergency situation. In May,Yolanda received an eviction notice due to disconnection of services. Yolanda filed an appeal for a hearing to over rule the eviction. On June 10, 2025 the honorable judge dismissed the court case. The honorable judge ruled in Yolanda and her kids favor. The honorable judge rejected the regional manager’s Betty Frierson plea for Yolanda and her family to vacant the premises immediately. Duke Energy of South Carolina is asking that the total bill of $3,988.00 be paid,in order for Yolanda’s lights to be reconnected. The regional manager Betty Frierson has threatened Yolanda will CPS,which is the Department of Social Services here in South Carolina, to try to have her kids removed from the home. The regional manager, Betty Frierson is now trying to persuade the property manager of the property to file another eviction on Yolanda to have her and her kids thrown out. After the judge over-ruled,denied and dismissed the first court case for immediate eviction. Yolanda is now reaching out to the community of all states for help with the light bill to reconnect her electricity for the sake of her and children. Duke Energy of South Carolina won’t negotiate or compromise, they are asking Yolanda to pay the total bill of $3,988.00 to reconnect service. Yolanda does not have enough income to pay a light bill of this nature. We are asking the community for help to get Yolanda’s lights restored. All funding will be used to pay Yolanda’s electric bill. Yolanda wants thank anyone who is able to donate towards this emergency situation.
