Hello! I am setting this page up for my mother, who lives abroad in Mexico, a country not included/supported on GoFundMe. So let's help her raise some funds for dental surgery! I believe that all humans deserve primary health care despite their financial status. Below you will find my mother's story/letter to you:

"Dearest Family and Friends
Two years ago, at the very beginning of the pandemic, I came to Mexico to live in a remote little mountain town called San Miguel de Allende with my partner of almost two years. I came here with the hope of a continued relationship and calmer life. But the emotional and financial support system that I had once trusted quickly turned into a toxic and abusive situation. I had to make the heartbreaking and challenging choice to leave the relationship after six weeks. I decided to stay in Mexico by myself rather than travel during such an uncertain time. Also, it seemed like a viable way to financially survive the pandemic.
Within a few short months, I discovered that I could not work or earn money as a US citizen legally. I found myself stuck at a crossroads and, worse, in bad dental health.
Two weeks ago, I experienced significant dental trauma. I immediately went to a reputable dentist for an emergency examination. X-rays showed my teeth in a critical state requiring surgery, bone reconstruction, grafting and implants. Unfortunately, the lack of health care affordability in the US had kept me from achieving the most basic medical attention in the past and led to this long-overdue moment. I need surgery, and I need your help.
As mentioned above, I can’t legally work here, and my income is minimal. But there is a silver lining.. and that is that the procedure done here in Mexico will cost a fraction of what it would be in the US. So, for example, the total here is $6,500, instead of the US price of $20,000-$22,000.
Additionally, I am motivated to generate funds for this procedure. So I’ve decided to sell my MacBook Air laptop.
I've lived my life trusting in the goodness of the Universe, though at times, it has tried me. However, I also believe that opening that door to possibility requires transparency and asking for help. Therefore, I am reaching out with an open heart to ask for financial assistance. Please know that any amount you wish to donate is appreciated and will help towards this necessary health goal. I'm filled with gratitude knowing that I have affordable access here in Mexico, and I hope to reach my goals!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter and for your consideration in donating to this cause. In advance, I’d like to offer you my sincerest and heartfelt... Thank You! "
Sincerely,
Yolanda
