Help Yolanda Fight B-Cell Lymphoma
Donation protected
Hello my lovelies,
Recently Tuesday, I took Yolanda, my dog, to the vet because she suddenly had a lump under her neck and she wasn’t being her silly self. She also had scabs on her ears that would not heal properly regardless of everything I have done.
The vet took some samples and ran tests (minus $630 dollars later). Today, it has been confirmed that she has B-cell lymphoma and is anemic (low red blood cells). I just stood there, being so still, heart pounding out of my chest, many things running through my head, and I just nodded and couldn’t speak. As soon as the vet left the room, I fell apart, hugged Yolanda so tightly, cried, and gave her many kisses. She is only 7 years old. We JUST celebrated her birthday on April 4th.
The vet came back in and gave me prescriptions for steroids to help with the swelling, pain, build up her appetite, and overall trying to keep her comfortable as much as we can. Without the treatments, she will only live approximately two months from now if only on steroids.
I will need to get a blood transfusion and chemotherapy pills to help prolong her life. We need her in our lives just a little bit longer. She doesn't deserve to have her life cut short just because cancer decided to do so.
The veterinary oncologist recommends a blood transfusion first to get her blood count up before we can get started on chemotherapy pills.
Blood transfusion would be starting around $4,000. Overnight can be charged more if Yolanda has to stay overnight. Vet office visits can be so expensive each time.
Oral chemotherapy pills start at $200 but will run up to $1,800 before treatment is completed. Hopefully, that will put Yolanda's cancer into remission for the long run.
Please have it in your heart to donate and help us. I lost my other dog, Bowie (Pug), to seizures and heart failure two years ago. I cannot handle another heartbreak at this moment. Share this page and send a lot of love.
