My name is Yolanda Lindsay, and right now I am fighting for my life.
For the past several weeks I have been in the ICU battling severe lung disease that has taken more from my body than I ever imagined possible. Something as simple as breathing — something most of us never think about — has become the hardest fight of my life.
Every day in this hospital room I am working to stay alive long enough to qualify for a lung transplant.
Doctors have made it clear: a transplant is my best chance to live and return home to my family.
But getting to that transplant is a journey that comes with enormous medical and life expenses.
While I continue treatment, physical therapy, and the intense process required to qualify for transplant, the financial burden is quickly growing. Between medical costs, medications, hospital stays, and the expenses that come with long-term care away from home, it is overwhelming.
If you know me, you know asking for help is not something that comes easily to me. I have always tried to be the one helping others. But right now, I need a village.
My goal is to raise $10,000 to help cover transplant-related expenses, ongoing medical needs, and the costs that come with this life-saving journey.
What keeps me going every single day are my children and my family. Being separated from them during this fight has been one of the hardest parts of all of this. My greatest prayer is that this transplant will give me the chance to go home, hug my kids again, and keep being the mom they need.
I am doing everything I can on my end — physical therapy, treatments, fighting through the hardest days — but I can’t do this part alone.
If you feel led to help, whether through donating or sharing this page, it would mean more than I can ever express.
Your support is helping give me a chance at breath, at healing, and at life.
Thank you for standing with me in this fight.
With gratitude,
Yolanda ❤️
