Help Yoda, the AA Service Dog, Beat Cancer and Help his Legs

Meet Yoda—the most loyal, loving, and lap-seeking service dog you’ll ever know. Yoda spent his life by the side of a wonderful man who was a pillar in the AA community. Yoda attended every meeting with him, providing comfort to those fighting the good fight. This is where I immediately became attached. When his owner tragically passed, Yoda found himself in need of a new home. His unwavering spirit and gentle heart now live on with me, but now *he* needs our help.

Yoda has been diagnosed with cancer, and the road ahead won’t be easy. He has four large cell tumors that need to be removed, and on top of that, his hind legs sometimes refuse to cooperate, making it difficult for him to walk. To give him the best chance at a happy, pain-free life, we’re not only moving forward with surgery to remove the tumors, but we’re also getting X-rays of his spine and legs to see if anything can be done to improve his mobility.

If there’s one thing about Yoda, it’s that he’s never far from my side, —literally, as you can see in the photos. I can’t take a single step without him following close behind, and if I dare sit on the couch, I better be ready for his massive head to land squarely in my lap, demanding attention. This dog loves like no other, and now it’s our turn to return the favor. We also think his name comes from his Yoda-like ears.

I’ll be sharing vet estimates for his surgeries and treatments to keep everything transparent. Every dollar raised will go directly to giving Yoda the care he needs to keep spreading love and comfort—just as he always has.
