This is Yevgeniy Hramtsov and his loving wife, Yelena. Right now they are facing the greatest battle of their life - Yevgeniy's road to recovery after suffering a massive heart attack.

At 63 years old, Yevgeniy has lived a life full of strength, love, and dedication. A graduate of a polytechnical university as an engineer mechanic, he earned the prestigious title of USSR Master of Sport in weightlifting. Thirty years ago, he and his beloved wife, Yelena, moved to Canada to build a better future together - and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

Yevgeniy is known by everyone who meets him as a man of integrity, kindness, and passion. A true lover of life - from travel and classic rock music like The Beatles, Eagles, and Led Zeppelin, to his lifelong fascination with cars and engineering. He has always had a sharp eye for beauty, detail, and excellence. As one of the first five truck drivers to join Highlight Motor Group, Yevgeniy helped lay the foundation of the company’s renowned reliability of service with his hard work and professionalism.

But recently, tragedy struck. After coming home from a regular work trip, Yevgeniy suddenly fell gravely ill in the night. He suffered a massive heart attack, and emergency responders had to restart his heart twice before rushing him into an open-heart surgery.

Thanks to the incredibly knowledgeable Emergency Services professionals and skillful surgeons, Yevgeniy's life was saved, but his prognosis was not promising. For over a month, he was in a coma. His devoted wife Yelena stayed by his side the entire time, caring for him, speaking to him, playing to him his favourite bands while praying for a miracle. Against all odds, Yevgeniy finally woke up. He is conscious today, but they both know that the road ahead will be long, difficult, and costly.

Yevgeniy is now in the early stages of his road to recovery, starting the painful and lengthy process of rehabilitation. He is currently at the hospital and requires round-the-clock medical support. Once he is stable enough to leave the hospital, he will need homecare nursing staff, rehab specialists, specialized medical equipment, and adjustments to his home to make it accessible.

As the main provider for his family, Yevgeniy is unable to work and there is no certainty about when or if he will be able to return to any form of employment. His wife Yelena, an artist, has dedicated herself fully to his care, but they cannot face this challenge alone.

Yevgeniy has always been the man others could count on - a loving husband, a loyal friend, a respected coworker, and a hardworking professional. Today, he needs us to be there for him.
