HELP YESENIA & HER DAUGHTER

Donation protected
Hi- My name is Kimberley and I am fundraising for a client Yesenia and her adorable 15 year-old daughter. Last October, I leased them their very first apartment in Coral Gables after they had been living with relatives for many years. Yesenia is a hardworking single mother of 2 daughters (one is a college student on scholarship at The University of Florida and the other is a Sophomore at Coral Gables Senior High). Both are straight A students. The youngest daughter was so excited when she moved into this apartment where she would finally have a kitchen all her own to explore her passion of baking. Cookies, cakes, muffins...you name it she bakes it! The picture I've posted was taken when they first got the key to their new apartment.

Two days ago Yesnia received a notice from the landlord alerting her to a $400 rent increase effective October 31 and she must sign the new lease agreement with the increase by Saturday morning. Raising two daughters and putting one through college with ZERO assistance from the father or any other family members. She is doing the best she can to make ends meet, but this rent increase is just impossible. They will literally be on the street unless they once again move into very undesirable conditions with a family member who also can not afford to help in any way. I will not be getting a real estate commission on a lease renewal. I just want to help them keep a roof over their heads,

I have pleaded their case to the management company and they have presented my letter to the landlord, and we even offered to pay an additional $200, (I was going to match her $100 and give her the extra $100 a month ) but the landlord will not even accommodate that. They said to pay the $400 or move. No compassion what so ever and they are fully aware that there is no where to go in the current Miami-Dade housing market conditions. Rental rates are at an all-time high and inventory is at record-breaking low.

To get the ball rolling to help this wonderful mother and daughter out, I am going to donate $500 to this GoFundMe drive with a goal of raising the $4600 needed to cover the rent increase for the next year. If you could for a minute put yourself in Yesnia's shoes and donate anything to help them stay in their home and keep Jocelyn in her current school where she is thriving socially and academically.

Thank you so much for reading this and big thanks for making any donation amount you can!
