Hi my name is Jose . Im writing this and doing this gofundme because my fiancé Yesenia of 11 years got diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in April of 2023. We recently got engaged she’s 35 years old and we have 3 beautiful boys ages are 5,6 and 9. She’s amazing partner, the best partner I could ever ask for. she loves everything Disney and she also loves to do a lot of craft things wether is making gifts for special occasions for the family or just for her to do at home. She’s my rock and the best mother any kid could ask for. I’ve been taking care of her since may of last year I left my job in December of 2023 because i was missing so much and the work had a no fault attendance policy. I became her caretaker since may/June of 2023 and I started doing Uber and Lyft around December of 2023 right after. She started chemo the following may where she did good on the first 3 chemos and after she would spend alot of time in the hospital following because the chemo would hit her hard. She did about 15 rounds of chemo and she was done with those in november. After she did her double mastectomy in december. The doctors told her that her surgery went well and that only one side had lymph nodes with scar tissue that showed that the cancer spread to there. Once she recovered from her surgery she started radiation therapy on her left side of her chest/breast area around mid february. She did about 35 rounds of radiation. Once she was done we basically thought she didnt have cancer from the surgery they said there were no more signs of it. May came around so about two months later she started getting headaches that wouldnt go away so i would take her to her oncologist and primary to run test but the results always came back normal. As the month went by she started getting blurry vision, back pain, stiff neck and binocular diplopia which is like double vision. So we asked the to check if it was the immunotherapy they said it wasnt but we kept running ct scans and taking her to the emergency and nothing would come back. Somewhere in the middle of july she had fainted while i was working uber so her brother took her to the e.r and again they said it was stress or lack of sleep or not eating enough. She had fainted two more times and when i gave her a shower one day she started feeling like fainting again which she did and was out for about 10 min. Around the 5 min mark she started having a hard time to breath so i called 911 they came and took her to the e.r. when i got to the hospital she had another faint spell there while getting a ct scan. Then thats when they informed us that they were seizures not fainting. From there they removed csf fluid from the spine and everything she felt up to that point went away. A week passed and her pain and everything else came back. She got another seizure and went back into the hospital. When she got back to the hospital they told her she had breast cancer cells in her csf fluid and needed to do more studies. They told us that the cancer cells were in the meningis that is a thing lining thats on the spine and head. We saw the doctors but basically spent most of her time in the hospital because she kept getting seizures every week if not more. We got an appointment with a city of hope specialist in mid August where she told us that it was a very serious disease and she was now considered stage 4 with it being called leptomeningeal disease with relation to breast cancer. A few days later we went to the hospital to try to avoid a seizure before it happened due to the increase pressure of the csf build up. The doctors didn’t want to do another lp but still did it and then they put a omaya reservoir on August 23 on her head so they could remove fluid easier. She was released August 27 that same night she had another seizure. August 28 we had an appointment with the radiologist in city of hope. Where he told us that her cancer was serious and the treatments she was going to take. August 29 we had an mri done at city of hope but she wasn’t feeling well because the of the csf build up so I took her in to the etc in city of hope in the hope of them removing some liquid from the Omaya. She ended staying the night because they were worried she got an infection on her spine because of all the lp’s. August 30 she had mapping done on her spine and head to make a mask for radiation but the radiologist wanted to speak to me over the results of the mri. He said the mri that they were basing there treatments on which was from august 2 to the recent one the cancer had advanced a significant amount more and that he feared she didn’t have much time left but he said that he would treat her as long as she was willing. He also showed me the mri and I saw the difference on both mri’s. The same oncologist also saw her and told her she was closer to hospice than she previously thought but she didn’t hear her since she was on strong medication and was tired. So I told her when we were in a new room. I asked her to eat and drink her medicine so she could be stronger for her treatment. August 31 doctors came in and said the the radiologist and oncologist were changing their mind on the treatment. They told us to rest for the Sunday and they wanted an answer for what she wanted to do as far as hospice and resuscitation on Monday. Tuesday September 3 doctors came in and said that if she did radiation that it wouldn’t help extend her life and that it would maybe help with her symptoms, we had a talk together and she told me very clearly she wanted to keep fighting and she understood the risks. So I said I would support whatever she decided so I let the doctors know her decision. Wednesday September 4 I came to the hospital and 30 min after they took her to radiation which I didn’t know if they were going to do it or not. We had a little birthday cake and celebration there for our oldest since he was turning 9. The radiation made her throw up a little and she felt tired but woke up fully in the evening to cut the cake. Thursday September 5 she was debating wether she wanted to keep doing radiation and wether she wanted to go home. We talked to the hospital social worker for the 2nd time and she had a deep conversation with yesenia. She decided there that she was tired and wanted to go home and enjoy the rest of her time with the kids and family. My best friend purchased us a day to go to Disney for September 11 since she was asking she would like to do something or visit places. She doing good her spirits are up and she been in hospice for a few days a family friend also took her to go get her nails done today. So im not good at asking for thing or how to put things in words or writing but I was making this to see if we could raise money to either help with bills and if we can get alternative treatments from somewhere else and if it’s her time then also to save for her funeral services.
