Yelena is my oldest daughter of five children. She is the one who has stood by me and even pushed me to keep going as a single mother. Last year, I was able to purchase us a cash vehicle, and this year, I was able to pass that on to her. It was the first time ever we had two vehicles. Yelena is a graduating Senior, already sworn into the US Navy. She will be headed out to Bootcamp later this year after graduation. When I say this girl has overcome so much, I mean just that, and things that would otherwise deter a teen from success, Yelena used it as MOTIVATION to keep working hard. Early morning Drill Team, Afternoon Color Guard, Weekend Community Service Officer, and the Rifle Team Commander, this girl PERSEVERED and earned several awards and recognition for her hard work. Homeless Outreach Team Lead and again, oldest sibling of five. When she got that truck, she became so responsible, assisting with getting her siblings to school in the morning and helping with picking them up from practices or competitions. Last week, her timing chain went out and has been sitting since. I am reaching out to the community in hopes that we can help her get back on the road. It is just a 2006 Ford Explorer, an older vehicle, but a great vehicle and very well taken care of. My baby is so deserving, even does babysitting jobs and gives rides to help take care of the insurance. Hoping we can get her some help in getting this fixed. Hoping the community can show her she is seen and I am not the only one proud of her for all she does in the community and her hard work and efforts are never void. Seeking the funds to cover the costs of repairs.
