HELP YELENA DANCE AGAIN: FUND HER SURGERY
Hello, my name is Yelena Zerkovska, and I am a professional ballet artist and a teacher. I started dancing in Odessa, Ukraine at the age of 5. After graduating from the University of the NC School for the Arts, USA, I worked with ballet companies in CA and NY. I traveled the world as an international guest artist and danced as a soloist in most famous classical ballets. I have been a dedicated teacher since the age of 15.
Over 2 years ago I stopped dancing because of extreme pain in both hips. I am no longer able to dance, walk or even sleep with no pain. I have seen over 25 doctors in the USA who all told me I need a surgery but will never dance professionally again! After prolonged research, I came across a doctor in Belgium, Dr. Koen De Smet who has operated on dozens of high-level professional athletes with similar hip conditions.
Dr. Koen De Smet is my only hope to come back in full force as a pro ballet artist and a teacher. Only problem: the surgery is $32,000; no insurance is taken plus travel expenses. It is a substantial amount of money for me. The surgery has to be done urgently due to my critical condition.
I am doing everything I can to finance the surgery, however if anyone wishes to donate anything to support my recovery- I would appreciate it with all my heart!
