Help Ye Recover From a Stroke

While driving home from a last-minute Thanksgiving grocery trip, my mom suffered a stroke. Thankfully, she was able to pull over in time and seek help. However, she lost the ability to move the right side of her body. She is still working hard to regain use of her right arm, which is paralyzed, and her right leg, which has significantly limited mobility and strength.

She was placed in ICU care on Monday before being moved to the neurology department. We estimate she will be released after a total of 6-7 days in the hospital. She will be moved directly to a 2-3 week rehab program.

Hospital expenses will amount to around $90,000 dollars, and the rehab program will cost around $20,000-$25,000. Our family asks for any support in covering these expenses while we navigate the toughest holiday season we have had.

Anyone who knows my mom can imagine how determined she is to recover. Even from the hospital bed, she has been trying to take care of everybody else.
