Hi my name is Kaili, and I am fundraising for my best friend Yazz, 25 years old.

Yasmeen Maklani is a beautiful and charismatic human being. Yazz is the type of person to put all her problems aside to help someone she cares about. She's the type of person that can make you laugh in any situation, the type of person who doesn't want you to worry about anything. She's filled with empathy and kindness, never hesitating to support you. Underneath her strength and kind heart, she has had an incredibly tough life and continues to struggle with various traumas every, single day.

Yazz was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer, with surgery to remove her thyroid and lymph nodes scheduled for September. Before her surgery, she had a trip to New York planned, a last hoorah before her recovery. She left on Friday, August 20th around 12:30 p.m and never made her flight. She was in a major car accident on her way to LAX and ended up in the ICU on life support. Thankfully, Yazz is alive, however she is in critical condition. She broke her neck and fractured her skull.

As a full time college student and passionate student, this will be heart-breaking, as she was excited to attend in person classes again. On top of her surgery for cancer, she will be in recovery for months from the accident, and in physical therapy for months after that. Unable to work, she could use all of our help to ensure that she gets the proper care she needs. The care she needs to fully function again, to live freely and fully.

Your donation would help cover; her surgery for cancer, her ambulance and Emergency Room bill, her stay in ICU and the hospital, her medication and surgeries for her neck and skull, the equipment she'll need when she's released from the hospital, basic necessities (rent, food, hygiene), and months of physical therapy.
