My name is Yazmin, and I’m facing a health crisis that I can’t manage on my own.
Over the past several months, I’ve had severe digestive symptoms that became so alarming I ended up in the ER on November 20th, 2025. The doctors are concerned and cancer is one of the possibilities they need to rule out.
I’m scheduled for an endoscopy and colonoscopy on January 8th, 2026, and I’m on the cancellation list in case something opens sooner. These tests are the only way to find out what’s happening and to prevent things from getting worse.
This is happening during a very difficult time in my life. My work contract ended in June, and I made the difficult decision to leave the education field because my declining health made it nearly impossible to continue working with students. I’ve been applying to jobs every week but haven't been able to find employment. Now my health coverage ends at the end of this month because my unemployment benefits are slightly above the limit.
I was grateful to see a GI specialist after my ER visit but starting in December I’ll be uninsured which means I’m responsible for the full cost of the procedures, facility fees, anesthesia, lab work, medications, and follow-up care.
I’m scared and overwhelmed, but I’m trying to stay hopeful. Any amount helps, and I’m deeply grateful for anyone who is able to contribute or share. Your support will help me get the testing and care I urgently need and give me a real chance to recover, stabilize my health, and return to work.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading and considering a donation. Your kindness means everything to me.
