Help Yahya improve his irrigation system

Yahya is a young, intelligent, hard-working boy from The Gambia who recently graduated from high school and wants to study further so he can have a career in politics, which he follows avidly, as he passionately wants to improve life for the people of his country and abhors the current inept and corrupt administration. He comes from a low-income family who has a plot of land devoted to horticulture and raises poultry (chickens), which provide manure for the land. However, their water irrigation system broke down recently, so now their crops are dying thus denying them of income, leading to a dire lack of food for their daily sustenance.



Aside from this, he needs a new mobile phone to replace his present one which is old and inadequate, a laptop so he can access the internet properly and finally, a proper bed to replace the old, water-damaged mattress that he presently uses as it is on the bare floor of his bedroom and has given rise to some health problems.

But his priority is to obtain a solar-powered irrigation system that will provide water for everything.A near empty well

A multi-function solar panel

The solar panel will have a dual function of giving power to the irrigation system and providing for the first time a stable electricity supply to their home. It will be connected to a solar pumping machine after drilling to the water level which will bring out water that connects to a series of pipes which will irrigate the property. 

Due to the severe nature of his problems, there is a certain amount of urgency that the money gets to him as soon as possible. It will not only be life-saving but also transformative for him and his family. To say they would be eternally grateful for this support is an understatement.
