Help Yaxelyn!
Donation protected
On December 7th, Yaxelyn was admitted into the hospital after finding a tumor near her brain and spine. Even though there have been several more scans we are still waiting to find out the exact location of the tumor, so a biopsy can be done to see what the next steps are.
As both of Yaxelyn’s parents, Onieda and Alfredo, need to be with her at this time the money will be used to pay bills and any medical expenses necessary. Please help the Curiel Carbajal family in any way you can.
As we get more information this will be updated.
Update 12/12: On December 11th, Yaxelyn went in for a biopsy and to remove the tumor. The biopsy took 11 hours and due to the severity of the procedure she is in a medically induced coma. Thankfully, as of now, the surgeons believe that they were able to get majority of the tumor out, which was over six inches in length and .6 of an inch thick. Please continue to pray for Yaxelyn and help anyway you can❤️
Update 12/21: The biopsy results came back and Yaxelyn needs radiation and due to the significant amount of pain, moving has been hard for her, which has resulted to her being moved to Phoenix to receive advanced physical therapy and radiation. The stage of the cancer is still unknown while we wait for more test results to come back. Yaxelyn and her mother, Oneida, will be staying in Phoenix for at least 6 weeks, but could be longer depending on treatment.
Update 1/1: Unfortunately Yaxelyn has not been able to go up to Phoenix yet to start her six weeks of advanced physical therapy and radiation just yet. Tomorrow 1/2, Yaxelyn will undergo another surgery. Once she gains enough strength they will be transporting her to Phoenix for PT and radiation.
Update 2/8: This has not been updated in over a month, Yaxi went to Phoenix, started PT which waiting for her incision to heal. Unfortunately, the incision got infected again and was transferred back to Tucson for a 3rd surgery. While in Phoenix, Yaxi was starting to walk with assistance and starting to use both arms. After being transporting back to Tucson, Banner does not have the facilities to keep up with the PT services she was receiving in Phoenix. Tomorrow, 2/9, Yaxi goes back in for a 4th surgery due to the incision not healing properly, yet again. We are hopeful this is the last surgery before being transported back to Phoenix to complete radiation and PT. As always, any help is greatly appreciated.
