I have decided to pursue a law degree and have enrolled in the Bachelor of Art Legal Studies program at the University of Alaska Anchorage. This is a big step for me, and I am excited to work toward a future I once thought was out of reach. Unfortunately, I am currently not eligible for financial aid due to defaulted student loans from when I was younger. This has made it difficult to move forward, but I am determined not to let it stop me from achieving my goals.
The funds I am raising will first go toward paying off my defaulted student loans. Once those are paid, any remaining funds will be used for tuition and books beyond what federal grants and scholarships cover. If there is enough, the last priority will be living expenses while I attend college, which would allow me to take more classes and finish sooner. Every bit of support will help me get closer to my dream of becoming a lawyer and making a difference in my community.
To those considering supporting me, thank you for even taking the time to read my story. Those who know me understand the struggles I’ve faced in my life. There were many times when I truly believed that was all my life would ever be—that there was no way forward and no different ending for me. I had accepted that as my reality. About five years ago, my life changed in a way I never could have imagined. What many people would consider one of the worst things to happen to them became, for me, the turning point that gave me a second chance. It marked the beginning of a new life—one I couldn’t have envisioned before. Since then, I’ve accomplished things that once felt completely out of reach. Even I’m surprised by how far I’ve come. None of it would have been possible without the people who stood by me and supported me with unconditional love. Going to law school was once just a dream—something I never believed was truly possible for me. Today, it feels within reach, and I’m determined to make it happen. I am deeply grateful for any support you’re willing to give, whether that’s a donation, sharing my story, or simply encouragement. If you’re more comfortable contributing directly toward tuition or loan payments, I’m more than happy to provide that information as well. Thank you for being part of this next chapter in my life.
