Hi everyone, my name is Shemes.

I’m starting this fundraiser because my mom has recently been admitted into hospice care after a sudden and devastating decline in her health following her battle with pancreatic cancer. This has been one of the most painful and overwhelming experiences our family has ever faced.

Right now our focus is simply being with her, supporting her, and making sure she is surrounded by love and comfort during this time. Hospice means we are preparing for the reality that we may not have much time left with her, and every moment we have together means everything.

Alongside the emotional weight of this situation, there are many unexpected financial challenges that come with it. I’m currently a college student balancing school, work, and being present for my mom, and the expenses connected to this situation are becoming difficult to manage alone.

I also don’t have a father or any immediate family here in the United States, so I’ve been navigating this situation largely on my own while trying to take care of everything that comes with it.

This fundraiser will help cover:

• General family expenses during this time while I focus on being with her

• Costs related to hospice care and end-of-life support

• Memorial and funeral expenses when the time comes

• Other unexpected costs that arise during this process

My mom has been fighting incredibly hard, and anyone who knows her knows how much heart she has and how deeply she cares for the people around her. She has always been someone who supported others, and right now I’m doing everything I can to support her through this final stage with dignity, love, and comfort.
