Help Yasmine from Gaza get a Kidney Transplant
Donation protected
Update: Yasmine has been having a hard time getting her medications in Gaza and her kidney is now failing again! She is on dialysis 3 days a week which is difficult due to the current war/genoicide. My goal is to get her out of Gaza into Egypt and then apply for her to come to the USA for treatment. JAK.
Hello everyone, Asalamu Alaykom..
This is my cousin Yasmine Rasheed. She lives in Gaza, Palestine and is in need of a kidney transplant or she won’t make it.
This is her story:
She was diagnosed with ESRD (end stage renal disease in 2016 where her kidneys were functioning below 10% of the norm. She found out she was born with only one kidney after it began failing. Her mother was a candidate to donate one of her kidneys, which she went to Amman/Jordan to do. She could not find the medication she needed to take for 1 week due to limited supplies in Gaza. Because of this her kidney is failing again. She is currently on dialysis until she is able to have the surgery.
Gaza does not have the equipment to deal with advanced medical problems and procedures. In such cases doctors refer patients to more sophisticated treatment centers. Therefore sheis unable to have the transplant done in Gaza.
In Gaza unfortunately, there is no insurance to help pay for this operation either, so she would have to pay out-of-pocket. The cost of the transplant alone is $10,000 and while her parents are unable to find work, her brother is currently working a job where he makes the equivalent to $5 a day.
Please, if you can donate, it will go a long way. Even $5 will make a difference. Thank you all in advance.
