Help Yashi graduate
Hello friends,
Long story short: my friend Yashi got her backpack stolen/lost in a transit flight on her way to San Francisco, where she would finish her final semester and become a first-generation graduate. Besides losing her most valuable belongings, she had also lost her laptop, and, as you know, that is the very requirement for remote education. After multiple calls to the airport, airline, and the police, Yashi was denied any investigation.
Unfortunately, at the moment she does not have funds to replace her laptop, and her family is going through particularly difficult times as well. I was lucky to become friends with Yashi, and I assure you she is one of the most resilient, humble, and hardworking people in our school.
Yashi's biggest dream, for now, is to get into a grad school and continue studying education and technology. Her first step to that is to graduate. This would be her last semester and her laptop was the tool to complete all the crucial work required for graduation (daily class seminars, writing assignments, doing work-study, Capstone).
Losing a laptop is a threat to Yashi's chances for a degree, given that our school can lend a laptop for 2 weeks only. Yashi studies on a scholarship, and when it comes to life expenses - pretty much the only source of support is herself, working as an intern in summer breaks. There is simply no way for her to afford a laptop, cover the cost of all the lost necessities, and deal with the family emergency situation at home, all on her own.
I believe we have been building a strong, resilient, and empathetic community, and times like this are what bring us together. Whether you can donate $5 or $50, you're truly helping. It may cost you a cup of coffee right now but make a huge difference for Yashi's future, and I hope we got this!
P.S.: Also look how cute she is... like?? UwU??? take all my moneys
