Help Yaritza Fight FIP: A Journey to Wellness
Donation protected
Our beloved (almost 2yr old) Yaritza kitty has come down with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a severe and often fatal disease. The treatment for FIP is extremely expensive financially, mentally, and emotionally.
Due to her condition, I have been out of work(self employed solo cleaner) for an entire week providing supportive care that was critical in order for her to have a fighting chance with the meds. We are at the end of our first week of treatment and I have exhausted all my financial resources and we still have a very long road ahead.
The good news?
The treatment seems to be working!
Why do I say this?
Yaritza was diagnosed on Monday 4/21 with this life altering disease. She also got her first round of treatment on Monday evening. Tuesday came and she no longer could walk and barely sit up. Wednesday came and was the worst day of all. It was the day she started having seizures and could no longer regulate her own body temperature. We diligently continued treatment and supportive care (keeping her warm and clean and hydrated). Saturday morning my girl stumbled, on her own four legs, out of the bathroom! A true miracle!
I cannot give up on her now. Myself, my best friend Aprille (my son’s bonus mom), and our children have worked together tirelessly to keep our little fighter in the fight and she’s defying the odds everyday!
Anything helps! Even just a share :)
Thank You so much for reading her story. I will post updates as they come.
