A few nights ago, a sweet little cat started showing up at Nana’s Ice Cream. She was incredibly friendly, but it was obvious she needed help. Severely underweight and dehydrated, she kept coming back, so we brought her to the vet to be scanned for a microchip and searched everywhere for an owner. After reaching out to local rescues, we learned her heartbreaking story. Her name is Yarelis, and she’s about 4 to 6 years old. A few years ago, she had kittens that were rescued and adopted into loving homes, and she was spayed through a local rescue. Sadly, after her owner moved away, Yarelis was left behind to fend for herself. The rescue immediately took her in and got her the medical care she desperately needed.
During her veterinary visit, they discovered she is very sick. She continues to vomit, and the veterinarians believe she most likely has an intestinal blockage that will require surgery.
If we do not raise enough money, she will have to be euthanized.
Once she’s healthy, Yarelis will be adopted, where she’ll spend the rest of her life safe, loved, and never have to worry about being abandoned again.
We’re asking for help to cover the cost of her surgery and ongoing medical care. Every donation, no matter how small, brings Yarelis one step closer to recovery and the peaceful life she deserves. If you’re unable to donate, sharing her story means just as much. Thank you for helping us give Yarelis the second chance she’s waited so long for.
